After building 50+ landing pages, patterns emerge. Some things always work. Others never do. Here's what we've learned.
The Above-the-Fold Formula
Your hero section needs:
- A clear headline - What do you do?
- A value prop - Why should I care?
- Social proof - Who else uses this?
- One CTA - What should I do next?
The Section Order That Works
- Hero with headline + CTA
- Social proof / logos
- Problem statement
- Solution overview
- Features (3-5 max)
- More social proof / testimonials
- Pricing (if applicable)
- FAQ
- Final CTA
Design Principles
- One column layout performs best
- Lots of whitespace
- Big, readable text
- High contrast CTAs
- Real images > stock photos
Copy That Converts
- Lead with benefits, not features
- Use specific numbers
- Address objections head-on
- Write like you talk
- Keep it scannable
The #1 Mistake
Trying to say too much. Every additional element dilutes your message. When in doubt, remove it.
